Event Details

UCL - Institute of the Americas is pleased to host a screening of this Mexican film, part of the London Latin American Film Festival 2012. Inspired by the debate about a new class of “Granny Slaves” the film examines the plight of a woman who, instead of enjoying a restful old age, is pushed into taking more and more responsibility for the upbringing of her grandchild. Entrance is free of charge, but registration is required. More details via this link:

The London Latin American Film Festival has been a labour of love, over the past 21 years, for Festival Director Eva Tarr-Kirkhope. Her Cuban roots and love of Latin Culture are intrinsic to LLAFF: without her passion, dedication and vision many films and filmmakers would not have gained the recognition they enjoy today.
